Skateboarding with The Upside of Down

For the past two years we have had the privilege to be friends with Phillip and Ramona Gallegos and to be skateboarding with their son Zach, by the way we don't know if you can tell by the photo, but Zach isn't just any ordinary skateboarder, and Phillip and Ramona aren't just any ordinary parents neither!

Zach has Downs Syndrome and has skated with us since he was two, he is four now! This passion for smashing expectations  started at home with his parents Phillip and Ramona. Facing the news their son Zach had Downs Syndrome, they right away focused on his abilities and not dissing them. Phillip and Ramona created The Upside of Down in hopes to raise awareness and to show that Zach and other children with special needs are not defined by their disabilities but by their abilities. We  will be having a free skate clinic at their 4th annual car show and awareness event. It will be at The Phoenix Club, 1340 S. Sanderson Anaheim, CA 92806 . Please Come out and skate to promote The Upside Of Down!

Bringing Skateboarding to Compton's special needs

We have been teaming up with Hub CIty Autism Network to bring skateboarding to people with Autism and other disabilities. It is always a sight to see how skateboarding connects people together.

Hub City Autism is a non profit organization that was formed out of personal and public need. They bring valuable resources to families in Compton including group meetings, events, seminars, and discussion forums. We will be teaming up with HUBCAN again on August 8th, 2015 for their Back 2 School Resource Fair #5. For more info check out hubcan.com
